The Blue Mountains has long been an artistic and bohemian centre. The region is home to some of Australia's finest landscape painters, sculptors, glassmakers, craftspeople and contemporary artists - many of whom are represented here at Katoomba Fine Art and the Lost Bear Gallery.
The business comprises of two galleries. The main gallery, Katoomba Fine Art, was established in 2001. Featuring 12 separate exhibiting spaces, the gallery is host to a superb collection of paintings, sculpture, ceramics and hand blown glass from over thirty established artists. Monthly feature exhibitions are held at Katoomba Fine Art.
April 2010 saw the opening of the Lost Bear Gallery, situated in the heart of Leura in the historic Post Office building. An elegant and intimate space, the Lost Bear Gallery gives greater focus to object based artworks, with exclusive series from leading glass artists and stunning sculpture and ceramics, whilst also featuring selected paintings and drawings from the Katoomba Fine Art collection.

Katoomba Fine Art proudly presents an exhibition of sensitive paintings by Wentworth Falls based painter, Nadège Lamy. The exhibition will open on Saturday, August 28th and will be available for viewing daily from 10am to 5pm until the 14th of September.

Lost Bear Gallery proudly presents an intriguing exhibition of found object assemblages by Ian Swift, taking twenty well known artists from history, juxtaposing them on motorcycles and paying homage to their influence on history. The exhibition will open on September 11th and will be available for viewing daily from 10am to 5pm until September 28th.

'The Sixties Remembered', Steel and recycled plastic, 285cm x 185cm x 155cm, 2010, by Ian Swift
Katoomba Fine Art has had some beguiling and eccentric offerings from 'stable' artist Ian Swift, yet his most recent work, a life-size, rainbow-coloured rhinoceros, is truly engaging. Swift states that the work is titled 'The Sixties Remembered' because "there was a lot of horny activity, short sighted and belligerent politics and rampaging hallucinogens - though I really can't remember."
